About Project and Work: Local villages in Korea are suffering from the depopulation and aging. It is more serious in island than others because it is remoted fro m the main land. There are many natural resources such as beautifuI landscape and typical culture of the fishing village in the island(Nangdo) but unfortunately It is hardly to find young people to promote and utilize them in order to activate the villages. There are many garbage along the coast of island. They are mostly Iife waste from main land and other islands but also from fishing gears abandoned. In cooperation with upcycling artist, participants will make scarecrows and products creatively for farmers with collected garbage by participants. They will also invite island visitors to join upcycling activities in the open area. They will also help local elderly people for the household affairs and paint local masks in the street.
Accommodation and Food: Participants will share rooms in the local guest house during a project. There is no toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo in the accommodation. Bedclothes are provided and the cleaning rooms is in charge of participants. Meals are provided and participant will also cook food for themselves as a team.
